And of course, we all know what happens--the drugs that come after this AND their (esp his) eventual submission (I think that's as good a term as any) to the "beast" (ie, feeding/paying/supporting their entire group/family/etc.) leads them from roughly the late 70s straight down to the bottom (my view).
He talks so clearly about NOT wanting to become what they clearly became (stadiums, no real "new" music, blah, blah, blah, blah).
Thanks again--as one who lectures anyone and everyone that will hold still, I appreciate good extemporaneous speech!

A: "Well, we bump egos."
And yes, as he got a tad older and invited other things into his life he didn't hold the party line, if you will, forever. But for awhile there these guys were unlike anything ever, in the very best sense possible. When you are lucky enough to find that -or trip over it- in your life, it's worth holding on to. And telling all the young-uns about it, too!
